How we built Visamo

Built on what couples went through, not only on what's written.

Visamo's AI answers your questions and checks your documents using the experience of many couples who went through Israel's gradual process. Here's how we built it, and what to expect from it.

Why the rules on paper aren't enough

The Ministry publishes its requirements, but anyone who's been through the process knows they're only part of the story.

  • Vague on paper

    Many requirements leave room for interpretation: which version of a document, how recent it must be, what exactly it should say.

  • Different at the counter

    What clerks ask for can change over time, sometimes between one appointment and the next.

  • Different from branch to branch

    One office may accept a document that another sends back, and some local authorities don't even know the documents they're asked to issue.

Couples usually discover these gaps only after their file is sent back, and each time it can cost months.

How we built it

    We gathered what couples went through

    Many couples who went through the process shared their experience: what they were asked for, what got their file sent back, and what finally worked.

    We organized it into knowledge

    We sorted every detail by document, stage and office, set it alongside the published requirements, and marked where practice differs from what's written.

    We built it into Visamo's AI

    The assistant and the document check both work from this knowledge, so every answer and every check reflects what couples learned, not only what's published.

Every answer and every document check in Visamo is made by AI. That's what makes them instant, and it's worth knowing what that means.

What it does

  • Answers your questions in seconds, day or night, in your language
  • Checks each document against the requirements and couples' experience
  • Explains what's wrong and how to fix it
  • Checks that names, dates and details match across your documents

What it doesn't do

  • No one on our team reviews your documents or your answers
  • It isn't legal advice, and it can't predict the Ministry's decision
  • It can miss things or get something wrong, so read its notes carefully
  • It doesn't submit anything for you: you submit through the official channels

Your documents stay yours

The knowledge behind Visamo comes from couples' accounts of the process, never from the documents you upload. When the AI checks a document, it's processed only to give you that result, and it's never used to train AI models.
